Monday Roundup

May 19th, 2008 by Bonnie Shull

My name is Bonnie, I’m from the Killer Robot Clan blog. I’ll be doing the Monday Roundups from now on. Dave is still looking for a few good men (or women) to step up and volunteer to do a weekly roundup. Tuesday through Sunday are up for grabs. Guest blogging is a great way to spread the link love, so send him a twitter or an email to get the ball rolling.

With no further ado, here are your links:

Andre Pope has been learning the Google Maps API, and created a map of his recent canoe trip down the Waccamaw to share with us.

Brandon Advertising explores the expanding market for new media based medical advice in a detailed post, finished off with some business recommendations for the health care industry.

Dave Slusher of Evil Genius Chronicles lets us know that he has successfully moved to another host, and bemoans the process. (I sympathize. Been there, done that. Ick.)

Denney Clement’s Opinion Blog is prolific, featuring two posts today about transportation costs and two more on election politics.

At the Killer Robot Clan blog I’ve been lamenting the unsuccessful incubation of goose eggs, grumbling about blog maintenance, and ranting about noisy restaurants. My husband Andrew adds to the angst with a cynical review of Microsoft’s latest advertising. Its just been one of those weeks…

Over on the I See 20/20 blog, you can see the viral video of beloved Top 40 radio star Casey Kasem losing it after his producers arrange the show so that he is reading a dedication to a child’s dead dog right after Micheal Jackson’s “Beat It” fades from the airwaves.

Myrtle Beach Kimmy just celebrated her 33thrd birthday, and got an awesome card and present from her husband.

The MB Sun Beach Blog gives an update on Bike Week news, including the 2008 Harley-Davidson “‘Hot Model” contest that will take place during the Urban Beach Fest.

PoliTick-Tock gives us a comprehensive schedule of upcoming local political events, so you have no excuse to not get involved!

Paul over at Screw The Man has been coding up a storm! He stops to take a break and contemplate his business strategy, giving us all a glimpse into the privileges and burdens of a successful freelancer.

The South Carolina Trial Law Blog comments on the way new media is allowing young job-seekers to compete on an even footing with more experienced but less tech-savvy elders.

That’s all, folks! See ya next Monday.

Thanks so much for doing this! It makes me all tingly to see a roundup I didn’t write! If five more people jump aboard and I take a day, we get one every single day. Woo hoo, dream a little dream for me.
