My town has a new mayor, Ms. Alys Lawson. This is still unofficial as it has not been certified, but it has been reported by the Sun Times and WMBF . By winning 51% of the vote, a runoff is not necessary. Congratulations, Mayor Lawson.

I am guessing I am not the only one who doesn’t give a hoot about Conway politics. I was hoping this blog would be a forum for creative thought, not regurgitated news items. I keep coming back here, but I am certain now that the Grand Strand Bloggers does not exist. I will not be back.

Hey Beached Whale: Lighten up.
If you were paying attention, Dave was doing an experiment on “hyper-local” media coverage. It was less about the actual election and more about going more local than the local traditional media. Very little of it was regurgitated. As a matter of fact, Dave went out his way to video record the debates and interview people.
This site was also born out of the CREATE South conference (http://createsouth.org) of Grand Strand locals interested in technology, new media, and creative endeavors. It is here to do with as we wish. We’re here and listening. It takes contributions from people like us AND YOU to make it a forum.
